For those content to peek at the underwater world from the surface, there is fantastic snorkeling in the BVI! If you haven't brought your own, you can rent mask, snorkel and fins from Leverick Bay Watersports or buy them from Dive BVI in Leverick Bay, 5 minutes walk from Saba Wind villa. Some of the best spots are at the south end of Virgin Gorda at The Baths, Spring Bay and Devil’s Bay (see beaches section). In all of these locations, you can stay in calm sheltered water or venture into deeper water with bigger waves.

In North Sound, snorkel around Clark Rock, home of a sea turtle when we were last there, or take a boat to Mosquito Island and snorkel on the Colquhoun Reef. Just past Anguilla Point, around the corner from Leverick Bay, is Murdering Hole, a great beach with good snorkeling. (Don't worry - the name harks back to the days of Sir Francis Drake!)
